Happy Friday! Please don't forget to sign up for a parent-teacher conference with your child's homeroom teacher!
Murchison is hosting a Fall IB Parent Night on October 2 from 6-7 p.m. in the MMS cafeteria. Contact [email protected] with questions, or for a presentation recap if you are unable to attend. You can check your child’s grades anytime through the AISD Parent Cloud. Your child is highly encouraged to submit corrections for each assignment or test with a grade below a 70. Corrections allow your child to bring any grade up to passing (including fast-fact quizzes!). Dillo Quest is quickly approaching! October 17 is the deadline to submit the $85 fee payable via school cash online, and return the paperwork sent home in Wednesday folders a few weeks back. Financial assistance is available by contacting [email protected]. The 5th grade Diaper Drive will continue through October 20. Please consider making a donation if you can! Thanks for reading, and have a great weekend! ~5th Grade Team

Parent-teacher conferences will be held on Monday, October 8. Please click here to sign-up for a conference time with your child’s homeroom teacher only. If you’ve recently met with your child’s teachers (504, CST, etc.) or have a meeting scheduled for the next few weeks, you do not need to sign up for a conference.
At some point today you should receive a digital Progress Report from each of your child’s academic classes. Please review it carefully for grades below 70, or any missing work. You may see abbreviations in place of grades for certain assignments (ABS: absent, EXC: excused, MSG: missing, blank means not graded). The ONLY abbreviation that affects your child’s average is ‘MSG’ or missing, which counts as a 0 until the assignment is submitted. You can check your child’s grades anytime through the AISD Parent Cloud. Your child is highly encouraged to submit corrections for each assignment or test with a grade below 70. Corrections allow your child to bring any grade up to passing, so there is no excuse for failing averages! Your child knows how to complete corrections, so please check in with them for their plan. All graded work requiring corrections is sent home in weekly Wednesday folders. With 80+ students per teacher, we can’t be chasing down kids to complete corrections, so please encourage your child to complete correction immediately upon receiving graded work below a 70. They can attend Study Hall during recess each day, or attend Study Hall during ‘Fun Friday’ -- check in with them if you have questions! We included DilloQuest information in last week’s update. October 17 is the deadline to submit the $85 fee payable via school cash online, and return the paperwork sent home in this week’s Wednesday folder.
